Rachel Zegler is an American actress and singer who portrays Maria in the 2021 film West Side Story, which is her first major role.

Zegler was one of 30,000 people to audition for the role of Maria. In January 2018, director Steven Spielberg posted an open casting call on Twitter, and Zegler responded with videos of herself singing "Tonight" and "I Feel Pretty".
